How to become a B2B supplier

 

Due to the increasing business globalisation, communication standards have become more important.  In order to improve communication with our suppliers we plan to introduce a standard supplier number within the VW Group.  The well-known consultant DUN & Bradstreet administrates such a number, and has nearly 40 million companies registered in their database.  The nine digit number is referred to as a D-U-N-S® number.

It should be noted that it is a condition of doing business with VWSA that any potential supplier should have a D-U-N-S®.  Please treat this request with some urgency to avoid any complications in the future.

STEP 1:

Please contact your local D&B (DUN & Bradstreet) office/agent as soon as possible and they will provide a D-U-N-S® for your company. Please contact http://www.upik.de/. Select “English” at top of Webpage to change to English language. On receipt of your D-U-N-S® please forward it to the buyer.

Please note:

  • As tens of thousands of D&B D-U-N-S® Numbers are newly allocated worldwide each day, it can take up to 30 days to process your request. A Chargeable Service ($299) is available for a registered user to get a D-U-N-S® number within 5 days.
  • Valid D-U-N-S® numbers for all locations you want to register is a requirement.

STEP 2:

To become a registered supplier in the SDB (Supplier Database) it is necessary to have a valid DUNS-Number and Registration Number.

In order to obtain a Volkswagen B2B Registration Number, the supplier has to complete the following steps:

1.     Access registration site http://www.vwgroupsupply.com

·         click on “Team up with us” on the left side of this website and follow registration procedure. This step should only be completed once a valid DUNS number has been approved and verified via the D&B website.  

At this point the supplier would be registered on the B2B Platform and the SIT (Supplier-integration-team) will now conduct a SSR-check (Supply Save Registration Check). On completion a login name and password will be sent to you the supplier. 

2.     Access registration site http://www.vwgroupsupply.com again

·         login with the login name and password provided;

·         click on link to confirm acceptance of the B2B contract;

·         click on link to complete Supplier Database (SDB) form. 

Having completed the registration process, kindly forward the registration number to the buyer.

Please note:

·       Assign a person in your company to carry out the registration (registrar).

·       Appoint an administrator in your company to administrate the users and their authorisations for the B2B-Platform.

·       An original signed copy of the B2B contract must be sent to Germany
